On a daily basis you will have to:

  • Develop the project monitoring structure with the Project Manager.
  • Monitoring costs and budgets, identifying variances and risks of overruns, and making recommendations for optimization and adjustments as required.
  • Follow up with those responsible for each discipline and obtain responses to variance present.
  • Analyze variances and explain discrepancies to the project manager.
  • Develop the project realization strategy – Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) with the Project Manager.
  • Develop the project baseline schedule with the Project Manager and Project Team (activities to perform in each phase, trends and duration).
  • Updating and monitoring project schedules, identifying variances and risks of overruns, and making recommendations for optimization and adjustments as required.
  • Analyze the scheduling variances and identify trends: Sequence, duration, margins, risk and implementation strategies.
  • Prepare resource curves according to the schedule, monitor and follow-up (identify human resources and estimate efforts for each activity).
  • Maintain an overview of all resources to identify potential conflicts between project activities, queries and support requests.
  • Manage project changes that are linked to the schedule in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate and prepare periodic progress reports for the project.
  • Promote the use of internal project management tools and continually improve project control practices.
  • Supporting Directors and Project Managers in the monitoring and control of projects by regularly updating project documentation, monitoring tables and registers and ensuring their integrity.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing and updating schedules.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in consulting engineering.
  • Proficient in MS Project and Primavera
  • Knowledge of the PMBOK concept (project life cycle, knowledge domains, SPI, CPI, etc.)
  • Experience in the industrial sector (refining, petrochemicals, mining and metals, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and integration capacity
  • Resourcefulness, good organization and thoroughness
  • Autonomy, leadership and sense of priorities
  • Hardworking, sense of initiative and proactive
  • Bilingual (French and English: spoken and written)

Assets :

  • Experience in planning plant shutdowns
  • PMP Certification
  • Member of the "Association for the advancement of Cost Engineering" (AACE)
  • Experience in consulting engineering
  • Willingness to travel
