Our energy sector client in Varennes is looking for a Project Engineer for a permanent position.

As a project engineer you will be responsible for specific scopes of work determined by the project manager. The accountabilities will be to deliver the scopes within budget, schedule and to the level of quality and support the DCS and control narrative program. In addition to typical PE roles and responsibilities this includes documentation and residual engineering not yet completed.

Responsibilities :

• • Ensure all Automation scope of work is captured.
  • Support control room set up, SAT, Handover to Operations.
  • Schedule and participate in EHT programing, FAT, SAT, High Voltage testing, Safety/protection programing
  • Control room installation
  • Fibre optic and communications
  • Site wide Fire & Gas systems
  • Site wide Security
  • Close out actions (both commercial and technical)
  • Provide coverage for PM when required
  • Execute the scope of works inline with the project budget and schedule
  • Own and report the scope of work action items list and communicate progress / close outs.
  • Produce ECN and CCN’s when required. This includes estimation and potential schedules
  • Support contract management and close out / resolution of issues and claims
  • Participate and lead process improvement initiatives as they arise
  • Plan and facilitate audits as construction moves towards commissioning
  • Assist in the RFI process to ensure timely resolutions of RFI’s that could impact the PE’s scope of work.

Requirement :

• • Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 3 years of Project Engineering Experience across the pre-FEED, FEED and EPC phase, or experience as part of a new energies, refinery small projects or turnaround, chemical or gas technical project organization
  • Experience within oil and gas refining, chemicals, and/or Biofuel industry including experience in design and construction

Skills :

• Previous engineering experience across all project phases of refinery or chemicals-based projects involving EPC/EPCm contractors is preferred.
• A mindset and capability to look over his / her own boundaries and have an eye for the identification of potential opportunities/issues / unknowns.
• An ability to anticipate potential, or emerging, problems/risks and mitigate before they happen
