Our client in the renewable energy sector in Montréal is looking for a Senior Planner for a permanent position.

Your contribution:
Upon your arrival, you will support the Project Delivery team in the centralized coordination of the planning and scheduling of a major project in execution. You will report to the Manager, Project control office. This is an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team as you enrich your career and work on unique and disruptive technology.
Your role and responsibilities will be the following:
- Develop and implement project management standards and processes related to planning according to best practices;
- Support project managers and project teams to develop baseline schedules, monitor progress, analyze schedule variances and identify trends by providing a level of expertise in the in the development of the project execution strategy;
- Manage risk analysis of schedules and participate in meetings with project partners;
- Set up Earned Value management methods and project monitoring elements;
- Participate in exercises to optimize project and portfolio schedules and provide support in the analysis of resource needs;
- Work closely with the project control, risk and estimation teams to set up business processes and develop project schedules;
- If necessary, implement mitigation plans, study and propose plans to accelerate or catch up on the schedule;
- Is in charge of coordinating and preparing periodic project progress reports;
- Revise the schedules of consultants, suppliers and contractors for alignment with the project;
- Develop and prepare the Project Dashboard and issue each month;
- Provide support to project teams for the analysis of delays and complaints;
- Organize and support the administration of the Primavera P6 database;
- Develop and maintain the baseline including the phased budget;
- Prepare and update earned value curves;
- Update baseline, forecast dates and provide initial gap analysis to assist the PM;
- Works very closely with Project Cost Control and other functions for efficient and robust updating and reporting of EVMS.
- Prepares and updates the earned value curves.
- Updates the performance baseline by implementing approved changes.
- Prepares, in collaboration with the project cost controller and the project control team, the project report to include EVMS metrics such as:
- Cost performance index (CPI),
- Schedule performance index (SPI),
- Cost variance,
- Schedule variance,
- Estimate to complete (ETC),
- Estimate at completion (EAC),
- Variance at completion,
- Explanation of discrepancies.
Your qualifications :
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in planning engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning projects on a major project (+200M);
- Experience in heavy industry (refining, petrochemicals, mining and metals, hydro, etc.);
- Experience in a multi-project environment;
- Have completed a bachelor's degree in a relevant field;
- Graduate studies in a related field, an asset;
- Certifications and training in project planning;
- Experience in developing project management processes and standards;
- Mastery of Primavera P6, MS Project and other planning tools;
- PMP, PMI-SP, AACEI-PSP or other certification, an asset;
- Bilingual (French and English) is essential.
