Daily, you will need to:
 

• Ensure optimal occupancy rate of technicians and draftsmen according to the department's objectives through weekly and monthly planning.
• Evaluate short-, medium- and long-term resource needs based on sales and occupancy projections and make recommendations to management.
• Coordinate day-to-day staffing requests by considering the technical skills and knowledge of employees to meet the needs of various stakeholders.
• Follow up on action plans.
• Manage and supervise students and interns as well as the hiring process.
• Integrate new employees into the department.
• Establish pairings between junior and senior employees in order to promote the development of junior resources.
• Carry out various technical mandates according to the needs of the department (e.g. quality control).
• Coordinate and follow up on the project management process (e.g. project closure).
• Actively participate in various continuous improvement mandates within the department.
• Participate in the development of the department's strategic plan and budgets.
• Proactively contribute to the team's work climate through various activities in order to have motivated and inspired employees.

Requirements:

• DEP or DEC in industrial design or mechanical engineering
• Approximately 10 years of experience in piping technical drafting
• Experience in personnel management
• Spoken and written languages: French and English.

Available office : Montreal. The position is in hybrid mode at our client Suncor’s installations in Montreal.
